Warranty Information
We back our products here at Okuma and that’s why we pride ourselves in after purchase care and warranty service. We all know that a fishing environment is hard on gear, that’s why you want gear that lasts and backup service when you need it.
All Okuma warranties are limited to the original purchaser and exclude commercial use, accidental damage, misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorized alterations/modifications, or normal wear and tear. It also does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, incidental, or any other type of damage resulting from the use of this product.
If you have any issue with your product, please return it to your place of purchase with proof of purchase or get in touch with the team at Composite Developments. Products purchased outside of New Zealand should be returned to the place of purchase for warranty or contact Composite Developments for repair and service costs.
RODS:
All Okuma NZ rods are designed and tested in New Zealand by the team at Composite Developments (have been designing and manufacturing fishing rods since 1981). Okuma takes great pride in ensuring both the quality and design are suitable for New Zealand”s toughest conditions.
All rods are backed by a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase and cover any material or workmanship defects.
In the case of accidental breakage, we can usually supply a replacement tip or section so we can keep you fishing without the unfortunate cost of a whole new rod.
Reels:
Depending on the model, Okuma reels are backed by either a 5 or 10-year limited warranty. Please check on the box or with the warranty card.
It is important to note that especially with reels, the warranty does not cover saltwater immersion. This is a common cause of reel issues and like any moving mechanical device, a reel requires regular servicing and maintenance. If you drop your reel in the water (it happens), we recommend getting it back to us for service as soon as you can.
